    Following Spring school term full competition project packs will be distributed to schools.

  2. July 2016

    The competition will in line with the last week of term and the start of summer holidays.

  3. 1st August 2016

    All competition entries must be received by ‘BloominYorkshire’ on or before Yorkshire Day, the 1st August 2016.

  4. 1st August - 1st September 2016

    The competition panel will compile all entries and a winning school will be chosen within this 4 week period.

  5. 5th September 2016

    Winning School will be announced to coincide with the 1st/2nd week of the new school term.

  6. January 2017 - April 2018

    The project team hope to fundraise circa £1,000,000 from sales of the rose and additional memorabilia generated over circa 15 month period.

  7. The Exhibition 2018

  8. Mid April 2018

    Exhibition site will open for planting.

  9. Mid April - 1st August

    The planting project is estimated to take 3.5 months with schools actively participating in planting the roses.

  10. 26th July 2018

    Week coinciding pre-organised celebrations/festivities start.

  11. 1st August 2018 'Yorkshire Day'

    The official opening of the site with the final rose being planted by the competition winner.

  12. End of October 2018

    Is planned closing date of the exhibition and the display will be dismantled.
